Default Confused-how to setup?

I don't understand WHMCS.

I've read around the forums a bit and tried to figure out how to set it up, but none of it is really helping.

Do I need to pay separately for WHMCS?
Or does it come with the hostnine reseller packages?

If it comes with it, how do I set it up?

Thanks in advance.

It comes with the reseller package. Make a support ticket and they will help you out.

In the ticket, I was told to go to Reseller Central - WHMCS Documentation

I don't understand it.

The first step is telling me to go to 'Configuration' to add a new server.
Where is this configuration?

Is this article going by if I already have some form of WHMCS somewhere? How do I get it? I don't quite understand all of this yet.

Thanks for your help.

(I sent this on the ticket and am getting no reply)

Configuration is a menu in the Admin area.

you need to apply for your license here: WHMCS - The Complete Client Management, Billing & Support System

Ok I have the license, got the WHMCS installed.. etc.

Now I have 3 packages in the Reseller Central with their feature lists implemented.

I just made 3 more packages in WHMCS (same?) -- how are these linked?

How do the customers pay and get the features I put in reseller central but through WHMCS?

I don't get it!

Thanks in advance for your help.

When you create them you assign them to a server/service

They purchase your created package and it is auto setup if this is how you configured it - payment is through the payment gateway you have to obtain, install and configure

admin > Configuration > payment gateways

Ok so I am on node3, so .. I add a server.

Could you help me on what to put there?

And then for products, I put the node3 as well?

I don't get how it works. What if it's full or something?

And one more thing-- how do I get domains registered for people and allow them to get a free domain? or charge for it if I wanted?

Hi

doesn't matter what you put for server name.
Max accounts put whatever you like.

Nameservers - put your private ones if you have them, or h9 defaults if you do not.

Reseller Central accounts are created in the location you select in the product Module tab. See here for more info: Reseller Central - WHMCS Documentation

In the product you are creating, go to the Other tab and you can choose the free domain options there

I put 'free' domain for the products, does that mean people can register a new domain?
I mean the domains are not actually free (.com etc)
do I need to do something with the registrars?

Make sure you have funds in your Registrar account to cover the domain cost.

you need to make sure you put your standard domain prices in Domain Pricing and then select the tlds that you wish to be free in the product's other tab
