Default Domain Transfer - Directi

Hey all,

I've got my WHMCS integrated with their reseller Directi domain service. I've had not problem with customers registering new domains, and I have a substantial positive balance in my reseller account.

However, I hit my first snag today when someone tried to transfer a domain name. The existing registrar is DirectNIC, and it is unlocked.

I got the following error message re: the transfer:

"Domain Secret should be 6 to32 characters long"

Help?

Did you put the EPP code in the Transfer Secret?

If yes - contact WHMCS support

Hey, jrawly! Thanks for the reply.

I guess in my frustration I hadn't phrased my question correctly. The real question was that I had no place to put my EPP code in, so I was wondering how to do it. After reading your reply, I thought to go check my config and saw the EPP Code box was not checked. I checked it and bang! Everything went through just fine!

Thanks again!

If you want to transfer your .com, .net, .biz, .us, .org or .info domain, you will need to contact your current registrar and request the domain's Authorization Code (also referred to as an auth code, Authinfo code or an EPP code). An authorization code is usually a 6- to 16-character code assigned by the registrar. Authorization codes are basically a password for the domain serving as an extra security measure. The auth codes ensure that only a domain owner can make domain name transfers. The Registry
requires the Auth Code so for .COM, .NET, .BIZ, .US, .ORG, and .INFO domains you will not be able to continue a transfer until you are able to get the Authorization Code from your current registrar. You can transfer the domain name from tucktail
