Default Directory Protection
Do all the control panels have the ability to protect directories? Can I combine SSL certificates with the directory I want to protect?

Use the "Password Protect Directories" option in cpanel.

Yes, your SSL certificates works with your whole domain. Just put "https"

If you are a reseller then you can turn off the option using Feature Manager in web hosting manager. You do know that password protecting directories and SSL certificates are not the same thing?
