Default parked domain

just wondering if it's possible to aquire a domain name thats being held by godaddy.com, I tried to register bipolarbarbie.com for my band however it says the domain isn't available

so I did a whois and it took me to a godaddy site, when i checked the url it was actually bipolarbarbi.com no E at the end

is godaddy just squatting on names or does someone actually own that domain
plus the different variations? theres an offer where you can backorder the domain for $18, seems like scam to me.

I probably already know the answer, come up with another variation of the name, but I figured I would ask

I use getdotted.com to give me the info on domains, this creates a link to the whois database to show who has registered the domain. I would use a different TLD like .info especially for a band, I don't see the point in .coms everytime.

Looks like the domain you want was registered way back in 2005.

thanks, I had checked whois and everything already, just wondered if it was possible to get the name without paying an arm and a leg for it. I just created a variation and registered that instead.

that domain that I wanted was created in 2005 but someone is just sitting on it for some reason. no big deal. the reason I wanted to use .com because most non technical people just assume when you give them a web address it's a .com and thats the first place they'll try and go.

I registered bipolarbarbierocks.com , easy enough for shirts, business cards, banners etc ect
