Default MS SQL Server Name

I have a Windows hosting account and I am trying to install and setup an application that needs MS SQL Server. I need to use SQL Server manager to run the database creation queries.

My question is, How do I find out what is the SQL Server name? I tried the hostname and the IP address, but those are not accepted by the Server Manager as valid SQL server names. I tried sending a ticket to support, but they do not seem to understand what I need.

I am new to HostNine, but have been hosting with other companies for years and never had this type of problem getting support.

Anyone knows where I could go for help?

Try ping to that server uing server name from a command prompt.

eg: ping <servername>

Check whether the ping request is going to the same ip. If not fluch and re-register your DNS
