Blog Hosting

Anyone have any good recomendations for blog hosting software? I would like to have the ability to have users create their own blogs and have the option of charging for it and possibly putting ads on them. I found http://www.bloghoster.net Was not sure if anyone has experience with them? Any good alternatives?

Have a look at WordPress... It is fairly extensible and there are many plugins available for several different things.

Isn't wordpress just blogging software for a single blog? I am looking for software to allow me to host multiple blogs, not to have my own blog.

ok... what you need, to have multiple bloggs is not a matter of software, is a matter of hosting provider, you can have as many blogs/websites/whatever as your web host provider allows you to have. if you are a hostnine customer, you can just create a subdomain to your customer and install on every subdomain a wordpress instance! of better if you are a reseller, you can hold your customer's domain and give them a wordpress ready to go!. and yes... with FANTASTICO you install "instances" of every script, so you can have multiple "wordpress instances", as many "wordpress" as you want to have.

for blogging even joomla works for it ( i love joomla ) but wordpress was design specialy for blogging you can find/buy templates everywhere if you don't know how to create it. ( www.templatemonster.com )

I really like the features of bloghoster, everyone can automatically create their own blog and has a bunch of features. I wanted an automated system where people can signup, like blogger.com. I dont want to manually create a domain and setup wordpress or someother blog software for each and everyone person that wants a blog....especially since the most will be free. All I wanted to know was if someone had any experience with bloghoster, and if there were any similar software programs available.

The WP MU is best! I have used Bloghoster and though its a nice piece of software, it doesn't compare to WP and let's face it, WP is free and the most popular out there. Much of luck.
