Default Which CMS is best for video/multi-media?

Greetings All,

I am a multi-media production teacher and would like to build a site for our program/classes that allows students to upload their video projects, allow for public viewing, comments/feedback and so on.. sort of like a close-YouTube service that could be branded to our program. Would one of the CMS's in Fantastico do the job? I don't mind installing additional modules for specific capabilities.

I found this script called PHPmotion. It looks like a self-branded YouTube clone. Any ideas on security? We would be doing all the video encoding offline.

http://www.phpmotion.com/

Thanks!

Charles

I dont know about security, but a YouTube type script I am pretty sure will violate the H9 TOS because PHPmotion converts the video to flash on the server and that uses up a lot of resources, You might might want to run this by Joshua or Alex first, before wasting all your time setting it up.

Hope this helps
Greg

Do those scripts have to convert the video to Flash? I'm thinking my students will do the conversion so the files are ready to view.

i am not sure if this would help but try http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=JW_Media_Player

it has to be integerated to your CMS separately. and this script is used by a Famous Daily news paper in my country.

Once again, check the TOS, and ask H9 Staff.
