Default Backups and 1 other concern

When I bought the reseller plan I was assured that there would be nightly backups. Now for some unknown reason my site goes down saying that it cannot find a template file or giving me an error 404. I chat with H9. they restore a backup. Trouble is it is a 6 month old backup. They say this is all they have. I have made a complete site backup using the cpanel backup program. I give it to them and they tell me that is is not any good. Then they also tell me the the backups are overwritten every day. I cannot believe that they would over write backups every day. My site was only down for a few hours when I contacted ythem. How did they manage to restore a 6 mth old backup. Have they tested the cpanel backup program? I do not believe that backups are done every day as promised.
Another small issue:
If you go to cpanel, ftp accounts, add account. Look at the links for downloading log files at the bottom of the page. It shows your passwords in clear text. I would think that this would be a no-no. I know that no one else should be able to see this....
I would like to know why my site quit working, did I get hacked? if so The above passwords is a bigger concern.

Reseller central. Node 7
FYI, I just received an email from Joshua saying "I'm restoring a backup I had now, please allow 1 hour" I will wait and see. I will say that they are still trying.

Keep in mind that the "backups" they do are labeled as daily - what that means is they keep 1 days backup. Do not rely on anyone when it comes to your site. Back it up yourself and download it. I am on node2 and was part of the october disaster, dont let it happen to you

I did download backups, the backups that were downlaod were bad. I uploaded the backups for them to restore and was told they were corrupt.
That is 2 different backups. The restore Joshua said he was doing still has not taken. They have not replied to 3 emails I have sent.

Were they full site backups or home dir backups?

Did they state why they were corrupt?

They were full site backups, No explanation why they were corrupt.
Then I asked for assurances that the backups in the future would be good and was told to make weekly backups that I could send them to restore. I asked if I could pay for a service that would have them hold my backups that they make for 5 days and did not receive any reply. Then, maybe I'm a little pissed right now, I never even received a simple "I'm sorry" Not that it would have helped anything would just be nice to know they feel some responsibility. So then, I said **uk-it. Figured I would terminate the account and rebuild from complete beginning. Made a new account on a complete different server. Now I cannot log into Cpanel for the account cannot ftp into the account, basically stuck. Then I get another email asking me to upload the same backups that I already uploaded and was told be 2 different people were bad. After all of this BS I had already deleted what I was told was bad.
This never use to happen at H9. I am beginning to question if I should just pull my 8 domains and find some place else
