Hey,
I need to build a simple form that collects contact info and credit card info, and emails or saves the data to be processed later manually. My client already has a Merchant account and CC machine. I know I need to get a SSL Cert and setup the site on a dedicated IP. I'm just not sure how to build the form and make sure it get's encrypted, so the info is protected when it gets transferred to his email. My clients email is hosted here with his site. Anybody do something like this? Thanks. |

I would highly not recommend you saving any credit card details via email. If anything happened to your clients card, such as unauthorised charges you are to blame. They have every right to take legal action. Have you thought of using PayPal or ModernBill??

Thanks guys,
Will check out the PGP. The client wants to use their existing Merchant account, and CC machine to process and confirm the reservation via the phone. But wants to charge a $200.00 deposit, to make sure the customers are serious (for that much I'm sure they will be). My client will then finish/confirm the reservation at a later time, and take the full payment via phone. If they didn't want the deposit I could just use a simple contact form and have it email them, without the CC info. If anyone has done something similar, or has any other ideas please let me know. I want it to be secure, simple and work well. Thanks! |

Thanks scoot. I was wondering about dumpin git into a MySQL in a secure directory.
So the SSL would encrypt the data, and post it into the secure URL/Database. The client would then login and view the data. I assume then have it send an email to him just letting him know to check the DB on the secure URL. Maybe PayPal would be easier??? This sounds as though it could be very expensive to do the above... |
