Hello Everyone
I have recently purchased a reseller plan. I hope my company exceeds! I will be designing the design and will post here so you may judge it. Thanks and have a great day! |

Did you buy a reseller package to start a web hosting company? I only ask because the reason I upgraded from a regular account to reselling, which was a magor price jump from $6.95 to $25 on another hosting company, was to have better control of my sites. With only one site, you can only have one chatroom and if you have multiple sites added on...it's just drama...the reseller account is a way better way to go so you can give additional access to script support and stuff like that...I've had a reseller account for like almost two years and have only sold 3 site packages...but I don't actively solicit webhosting accounts. However, the benefits and revenue I've realized from the control a reseller account has given me is sweet...

So how did it go for you? I am also trying to start up a hosting business. Does anyone have any input or suggestions? I welcome all the help and input. Thanks, |

Develop a business plan. This will certainly make you think about different aspects of your business. Keep it updated. This is the point where I'm at. I have a market and I have a business plan. I'm a programmer but didn't really do anything with the web. Hence, I've spend a couple hours each night reading up on different tech stuff, Joomla, PHP, Dreamweaver, Ruby, etc. When those are finished, I have to read up on accounting & finance to be able do my own books. I am probably about 3 weeks away (depending how lazy I am) from actually going live. I've been making inquiries to certain people for free websites and hosting just to able to populate my gallery. I also do alot of helping out for free (design-wise) to existing site owners. To be successful is not a cakewalk as it initially looked like. It is alot of work. I find the hardest thing is to motivate people into comming up with content for their sites. Two of my sites are just sitting waiting for content. |

quneur,
Thanks for the info. I am starting the B-plan now and trying to get the OSCommerce setup figured out. Good luck to you with your site. Let me know how it goes. miKel |
