The cloud platform is fully operational.

As explained in our Maintenance and Outages thread, this is a DNS related issue that is completely unrelated from our Cloud product.

Default 100% of nothing

I think it is outrageous that you claim 100% uptime and defend that when you have a problem simply to blame it on YOUR dns server. the network is the computer, that includes ALL your equipment surely?!
you claim instant failover, redundancy etc etc. how do you lose your dns server and the backup server. this is outrageous and totally unacceptable.

further to this, you claim that the problems are now fixed yet my sites are still down... what is the problem then?

Our Cloud Computing platform is fully online. However, the DNS servers that are external and NOT on a cloud computing platform are not online.

We're not going to turn this thread into a discussion board of why things are offline -- simply put, cPanels software had a bug within it that caused the DNS servers to crash both at the same time. There is absolutely NOTHING of which we could have done to prevent this.

You can request credit for the downtime at http://www.hostnine.com/credit

As far as your sites still being offline, you still have to go through what's known as "DNS Propgation". A Google search will explain it to you in full, and should explain why that's something we have no control over either.

Default dns propogation

i don't understand why dns propogation has anything to do with my sites now. there have been no dns changes to any of my accounts for over a week now. so could there be another reason why my sites are still down?

Default I can't find it in your forums but...

Ever since I changed my sites to the cloud server, I get more downtimes than on the regular server, which is an absurd.
First it is blamed on the DNS, now it is blamed on the service provider. I didn't find any message about this trouble with your server provider and it really shouldn't be of our (the clients) concern - you are OUR service provider and when we pay for a certain service (99.9% or 100% uptime) we expect to get this exactly.
Why do you still promote the cloud service when it is not functional?

Hello,

The accurate reason for the latency/packet loss to both uscloud1 and uscloud2 was because the SAN storage system used in these environments required an emergency rebuild at the datacenter. The array at the time was 190 terabytes. While a disk array is rebuilding it puts extra strain on the hosts and can cause latency and packet loss. Unfortunately, the rebuild effected both uscloud1 and uscloud2 a lot. Our management has since disabled the ability to create cloud accounts while they seek alternative solutions, most likely from SoftLayer.

If you are still experiencing issues on the cloud, please submit a ticket and we will gladly migrate your account to a newer regular hosting server.

Gday,

My site on uscloud2 was down for 6 hours today due to apache having to be rebuilt. I was under the impression that being on the cloud server would prevent such things from happening? Could you please explain what the 100% uptime covers.

Cheers,
Troy

Default Cloud reliability issues

I have also seen extreme reliability issues on cloud01 since moving three sites to it several months ago. March has been the worst by far followed by a close second worse in December due to the DNS issues. We put in a ticket around the first of the month (March) on one occasion when the server was down and received a response that it had something to do with a tmp directory or drive being full. This sounds like an extreme oversight from a server management viewpoint.

It is so bad now that I am truly wondering if the so called cloud environment is actually a cloud configuration or perhaps they need to fire all their techs who are responsible for the cloud services and re-hire techs who actually know what they are doing.

I sent a message to support and to management yesterday asking for an explanation what is happening and what is going to be done about it. Over 24 hours later and I have not heard one peep from either support or management. Maybe this message will get some sort of response.

I have monitoring status to back up my claims...Take a look
