The issue was a cPanel update pushing out mass DNS changes for certain zones causing the name servers to overload.
We run quad core servers with 4GB of RAM for the DNS servers. Both will soon be running 8CPU's and 8GB of RAM as soon as we can get the DC to perform the upgrades. The main issue we've been having is cPanel's DNS only system is a bit buggy. I am in contact with the owner of cPanel to see what changes can be made in order to resolve the issues we've seen. |
