Question Inaccessible Sites.

Can someone please guide me through this.

I have a forum which is probably over 2 gigs that has maybe 10-50 genuine visitors a day.

Anytime the node loading goes into double figures the site becomes inaccessible.

Common erros include sql down, http down (according to the node monitor) sometimes the monitor does not show the http or sql as down but the site is inaccessible.

Site monitors confirm the site is inaccessable accross the globe.

The only solution other than leave is to move the site to another node??????

I understand that there are proegation issues in this. is this like normal propegation in that the site is not accessible for 24-72 hours?

If so and the node problems repeat themselves am I not just jumping from one bad node to another in the hop that I might get a day or two of uptime.

What is the best way to sort this out.

thanks

Hi,

Do you have a ticket open for this? If so, what is the ticket id?

Hi Ben if you can do something to fix this issues long term then I take my hat off to you.

It is 295931 Ben open with various people either saying sorry your right or sorry you imagining things.

The node I was going to move things too is also down i.e. node 49 and depsite the reasurance yesterday the sites there are still inaccessible, getting sql error, cant load the site, cant load cpanel and so on.

My most important side was down 11 times for 43 minutes last night alone and I have had to deal with a dozen complaints at 6.30 in the morning. considering my last complaint was at 1am last night I seem to be spending all my time asking why the sites keep going down.

Can a senior manager please look at the problems that are going on with these nodes and speak to me as to what course of action can be taken.

I am completely fed up with the

There is no problem (so its my imagination)

Followed by several posts later

Sorry we are sorting it.

Enough is enough surely someone will take the bull by the horns and get to the bottom of the problems?

Hello

That number you provided is not a valid ticket number, it should be something like this
WHI-345197... a group of 3 letters, a dash, then 6 numbers.

Hope this helps

Tip

If you do move your site to a different node, make sure you have a back-up, and make sure that the back-up is not corrupted, you as a client are responsible for having a valid back-up

Hope this helps

Tell me about it, I have lost 5 clients over backup issues.

I did read that post and despite it saying everying is ok . . . .it is not.

The sql database is there one minute gone the next, site is accessible for a few seconds then not.

I wont move any sites at the moment as so many nodes are unreliable and erratice I would end up losing everything, even if the down time whilst propegation occurs was worth it.

I am wiating to see if this gets sorted professionaly because at the moment I am sick of the

there are not problesm, yes there was a problem, there are no problems, yes there are problems we will monitor it

then it all starts over again.
