I am not defending H9 what so ever, any client that is on a shared server must expect some downtime, I tell all my clients if they don't want ot expect email balcklist issues, servers being down due to abuse to get a dedicated server. I do know it's frustrating, but hardware does fail as in this case. I have 2 accounts that I protect from downtime like this..I have a cheap reseller account with a different reseller ($6.95 a month) and I tell those clients that I have this. I always keep a back up that is no longer than 1 week old and if hardware fails or a long ddos happens I have that cheap host do a restore with my backup, the way this works is I have my 2 accounts at Softlayer in Texas, and I found my cheap reseller that is in the same datacenter as my node so the propagation is less than an hour, My 2 clients pay for my "backup host" as I explain it's a lot cheaper that a dedicated server. I have used it twice. I know this will not make you feel better now, but a tip for the future. Greg V |

Hello,
This is not an outage due to server abuse or anything of the sort. It's a hard drive failure. There is absolutely nothing we could have done to predict or prevent this. I understand you're frustrated but we did not intentionally do this. If we could have prevented this we would have. Hard drives fail - it's the nature of the business and will happen with ANY host. We've had brand new drives fail, as well as 3+ year old drives, and everything in between. There is no way to predict when this might happen. We will keep everyone informed via this forum. |
