Default Running reseller account on a subdomain?

I am interested in signing up for your reseller hosting plan. I already have an old established website and would like to operate my reseller account on a subdomain of that site, but host that subdomain with you.

I would like to do the following, but want to know if it can be done before I go ahead:

1. Signup for a reseller account with you.

2. Point a cname record for a subdomain from the nameservers at my website to the reseller account that I have with you... i.e. hosting.mysite.com

3. On the subdomain which will be hosted at hostnine, install modernbill, my checkout pages, and an ssl cert and run my reseller account from there.

Is this possible and do you see any problems with what I am proposing?

Hi,

This is possible and no problem, you will need to use one of your free dedicated IP's off the bat for this subdomain account, and will have to point everything to that IP.

Why not just go full blown and check if the domain name mysitehosting is available

There are several reasons why I want to do it as a subdomain. First I have found that conversions are not as good when you jump from one domain to another. Second for seo purposes I would rather keep everything under one domain. Finally administratively its just easier, for instance I already have a wildcard ssl cert that I can use on the subdomain instead of having to buy a second one.

There is a difference between the tld that your reseller account is established/setup under and the frontend portal that distributes it or can be.

Your reseller tld is say abc.com and the site where others view your offerings is sub.abc.com or another. You still manage it from the base account.

Not positive about nameservers being ns1.sub.abc.com as I have never investigated this but that might not be a concern as the nameservers do not necessairly have to be the same as the site

i.e. H9 has name servers of ns?.myserverhosts and ns?.speedydns etc
