Use dedicated for Voip.

Hi all at H9 and all forum members,

I currently have a dedicated server with another company that sole purpose is to provide Voip (Voice over Internet Protocol).

I was wondering, if I was to order a dedicated server with H9, would I be able to install Trixbox onto it?
The Voip services that the current server has are used by my family that are dotted around the world (there sure are a lot of us) so we can keep in contact with each other without running up massive phone bills.

Another quick question.
When I ordered my current dedicated server, I had a number of problems getting Trixbox loaded onto it and eventually had to pay for the hosting company to install it via a CD.
If I experience the same problems would H9 be able to install the software from the CD (you will only need to load the CD in the drive and press enter once).

Any help that you can provide will be great.

H9 should reply to this - - but what a great Idea - your personal family VOIP service!!!

There is a zip for this albeit large but you only have to upload it once.

Or is that what you had problems with?

Many thanks for your reply.
That was the problem that I was having.
I uploaded the zip file extracted and installed as the installation guide said. For some reason when the server was restarted asterisk just refused to load.
I installed all updates, even enlisted the help from a friend that has used asterisk for many years. Still could not get it going.
Still have got no explanation why it happened.
Maybe the newer version installs without problems now.
