according to your contact page:
Prospective Customers Sales: sales@hostnine.com Information: sales@hostnine.com i emailed the above with my hosting questions late sunday night and received the auto-reply "Eva, Your Ticket has been received and a member of our staff will review it and reply accordingly..." and i have heard nothing since. then i resent my message last night and got the same auto-reply and as of this tuesday afternoon still no response at all! you provided a link in your auto-reply: You can check the status of or reply to this Ticket online at: http://support.hostnine.com/index.ph...ticketid=59836 when i go there i get: "ERROR: You do not have enough permissions to access this page. Please log in by entering your Email Address and Password." which of course i cannot do! is this the way to treat prospective customers or is there a bug here that has not been addressed? i'll give the benefit of the doubt and hope to hear back from you. Ticket ID: RZG-280223 thanks much. |

Perhaps posting your question(s) here may provide a more satisfactory response?
As long as the questions are not of a personal or confidential nature that is. |

I'm sure there's at least one person going through the 100's (or 1000's) of sales/info emails. H9 has created quite a stir in the hosting community with their presentation of the "Reseller Central" hosting control center so I'm certain they're getting blasted with a lot of inquiries.
I hope you have the patience to persevere and also invite you to post (on these forums) any questions you may have about the services H9 offers. Aloha, Ken (H9 reseller) |

thank you, Ben Gabler has responded to my email questions. i'll post my questions with his answers here for everyone's benefit:
Q. i'm looking for a plan where i can use Pine for my email along with the SSH access. i especially want my shell access with Pine continously connected all day to monitor messages coming in without getting arbitrarily cutoff by the hosting company's scripts or other policies such as a timeout disconnect. A. Staying connected to SSH isn't a problem. We offer jailed shell access to SSH with no timeouts. Q. also, will i be able to ftp download all my raw web logs (another thing not seemingly possible at resellerzoom..) and rotate them monthly? A. Yes most definitely directly through cPanel Q. which linux distro do you use? A. We use CentOS Q. what is a Boxtrapper? the popup was missing on the site. A. That is a system that requires people who email you to click a link to verify they're not spamming so you accept the mail |

Thanks, colt45, i appreciate your helpfulness and the reseller plan here looks good. i wrote back to Ben with another question and would like to post that Q/A here along with another question that i have:
Q. with the reseller plan can i set one of the two ip addressess given to one of my domains and then my other domains all to the second ip? will having my own ips prevent the problem of spam blacklisting due to spammers sharing the same server? A. Unfortunately each site would have to have a different IP as they will always be on different servers. Q. also, does H9 host porn sites? if so, can my sites be not placed onto the same server as them? A. As for the adult content no those are not on public servers. ------ the next question: as for the first Q and A i guess i'm not understanding the ip address usage. if i am given 2 ip addresses and i have say 5 web accounts from different customers, then are those 5 customer web sites using unique ip addresses or are they then sharing an ip address with other sites on that server? how do i get unique ip addresses? i may need one down the road for my site when i set up a merchant account. i should add that spreading the sites around is a good idea for the search engine issue, i plan on setting up several different sites of my own and want to link them togehter and also to a specific domain which will be a portal page for them. thanks. |
