May be a new client
Hi I'm currently looking for a new host, I'm the type of person who sticks with the supplier if things run smooth. I was with my previous host for about 4 years. I'm making the switch because they are based in the UK and I'm in Canada. They had servers in New York but as of late their customer support and servers have not been the best.
I'm reading tons of reviews about H9 and sharkspace, they both have good and bad reviews. What is making me lean towards H9 is the negative reviews in the forums. Sounds stupid? I looked at sharkspace and all I see are positive which leads me to believe SS is filtering out the bad reviews. I mean in this kind of business that has more "beginner" type users than experienced, there are bound to be a lot of negative feedback since most people don't understand C-panel or how a server even works.
My main concern is server up-time. Just give me the C-panel and a user-password and I'm happy. If there is lots of downtime, my clients will all want to kill me and the LAST thing I want is 20 or so phone calls asking "why is my site down" or "my email isn't working". I find the best kind of host is the one you'll forget about since they're working so good. Am I going to be able to forget where my sites are hosted (meaning; I won't have to send support tickets asking when the server(s) are going to be up and running again)? I don't have the customer base to grant a dedicated server yet so I need to rely on reseller accounts on a shared server for now.
Thanks for not deleting the negative reviews H9, I like the idea of allowing me to judge which negative feedback is valid. Only seeing 100% positive reviews makes it seem "too good to be true" and I judge that as "having something to hide"...
DO you have any servers in the Toronto region or planning on having nodes in that area. New York or Michigan would be fine for now. Are there any stats about downtime I can find on here?
Edit: found this website: http://www.hostninehostingreviews.com/ I like the feature of being able to change the location, if a server is down in newyork, I can switch to texas or whatever, how long does it take and can it be done of the new york server is down? Also I want to make sure I won't have to do this
