HostNine Community Forum Rules & Guidelines

The following rules & guidelines have been set forth by HostNine in an effort to promote productive community interaction. By registering, posting, or using these forums in any manner you agree to abide by these rules & guidelines. If you do not agree to these rules, do not signup or use our forums in any manner. Access to these forums is a PRIVILEGE (not a right) which we reserve the right to revoke at anytime, for any or no reason, and without explanation to you.

Failure to abide by these guidelines can result in temporary or permanent suspension of your forum account, at our discretion, without warning. In extreme cases, termination of your HostNine hosting account and/or legal action is a possibility. The determination of what does or does not violate these guidelines lies with HostNine management. HostNine management is the sole arbiter of what is acceptable content on these forums.

HostNine encourages the use of this forum to obtain peer-to-peer support from other community members. While our staff members are present on this forum, this forum is in no way an official support method, and it is not guaranteed that a HostNine staff member will ever view or reply to your thread. Should you have an urgent matter that requires staff interaction you will need to enter a ticket at http://support.hostnine.com/ for assistance.

Posts made on this forum become the property of HostNine LLC and will be visible to anyone with an Internet connection. We expressly reserve the right to modify, move, or remove any post, at our discretion, without explanation. We do not modify or remove posts by request.

We further reserve the right to modify these rules at anytime without notice.

Unacceptable Forum Discussion Topics
The following discussion topics are not permitted to be discussed via these forums. Any post meeting these criteria, at our discretion, will be removed without warning and may result in immediate temporary or permanent suspension of the forum account and/or hosting account without warning. This list is not all-inclusive and we expressly reserve the right to modify, move, or remove any post, at our discretion, without explanation.
  1. You may not use these forums to post a complaint directed at a specific staff member. Should you have this type of complaint you should contact our Management Team at managers@hostnine.com.
  2. You may not use these forums to discuss any account that has been suspended for any abuse or billing related matter. Any posts meeting these criteria will be removed immediately.
  3. Any post specifically intended to request a faster response to a support ticket, at our discretion, will be removed without warning.

General Community Guidelines
  1. Users are limited to a maximum of one (1) account per person. Any user found having multiple accounts will have ALL their accounts permanently disabled without warning.
  2. All publicly visible posts made on this forum must be in the English language. Any posts made in other languages will be removed without warning.
  3. Be polite and courteous to all members. Any personal attacks, insults, rude, or otherwise disruptive posts will be removed without warning. Personal attacks directed towards staff may result in termination of your hosting account with us.
  4. Use of foul language is not tolerated here. Any posts containing foul language will be removed.
  5. You may not post, link to, or reference any material that is pornographic, sexual, or violent in nature at our discretion.
  6. We have a zero-tolerance policy for spam on these forums. If you spam our members using this forum - be it via posts, private messages, or otherwise - your account will be permanently banned without warning.
  7. You may not post commission, referral or affiliate links anywhere on the forum.
  8. You may not use these forums to advertise, link to, or otherwise promote your website and/or services anywhere on these forums except where explicitly allowed.
  9. We do not allow cross posting on these forums. Cross posting refers to posting the same content in multiple areas of the forums.
  10. We do not allow bumping on these forums. Bumping refers to posting meaningless content (at our discretion) to bring your thread to the top of the forum.
  11. You should read and abide by all rules & guidelines in "sticky posts" within individual forums as these are specific rules that apply to those forums in addition to these rules & guidelines.

Infraction Points System
Violation of any of these forum rules & guidelines will result in infraction points being issued against the forum account. Each violation of the rules will result in infraction points ranging from 5-50 points per offense depending on the severity. These points will expire after 15-45 days although major infractions do not expire.

In the event an account accrues a total of 30 or more unexpired infraction points the account will be suspended for 2 weeks. If the account accrues a total of 50 or more unexpired infraction points the account will be permanently banned without the possibility of being reactivated even if/when points expire.

Infraction points are only removed when they are expired or when issued in error. We will not remove infraction points because a user "forgot" or "didn't know" about a rule. All rules are clearly outlined in this document and violations will result in points being issued. It will be very difficult to be banned from these forums if you read, understand, and follow our simple guidelines.

If you do receive an infraction please do not take it personally. We issue infraction points to any member account that violates these guidelines to ensure that the rules are enforced in a fair manner. We ask that you simply review the infraction and review the rules to ensure you remain in compliance with them.
