Question Connection Test #2 NOT ok

Can someone lead me the right direction? During ModernBill 4.4 install, Step 2, I see the table of questions and auto-detect answers, and under "Connection Test #2", it reports "[DBname] connection NOT OK."

What is wrong?

Thanks,
-Jerry

Did U setup your MySQL databases in cpanel before U started your install?

Step 1 - Create a new database for your billing system

You can create your database by using a MySQL GUI such as PHPMyAdmin or you can use the command line as follows:

Here is the MySQL command: mysqladmin -u USERNAME -h localhost -p create DBNAME

Beholder -
I didn't use phpMyAdmin, I just used MySQL Databases in cPanel. Is that most likely where the problem is? I'm not sure I would know how to create a database in phpMyAdmin, to be honest.

In cPanel, using the MySQL Databases administration you need to create both a database and a database user. You also need to grant all permissions to the database user for the database you created.

Example:
create a database: mbill (result will be username_mbill)
create a user: umbill (result will be username_mbill)
where username above is your account user name

Then in the Grant Permissions section select user and database just created, ensure that the All block is checked and click the Grant Permissions button.

The phpMyAdmin in cPanel won't allow you to create databases or users.

Thumbs up

colt-

I apparently failed to add user to database in MySQL. After doing that, the error cleared. Now I just have to figure out how to validate my licence...

Thanks!
