Default Modernbill 5.1.5 Install Issues

I'm giving modernbill 5.1.5 a go - hoping that some of it's previous problems have been sorted but have run in to a few problems:

Critical requirements not satisfied. Please prepare a suitable environment before continuing.

* You SHOULD have PHP version >= 5.0.0 for more efficient operation of ModernBill [you do not]. - Fixed using the AddHandler trick but then it appears Zend Optimizer isn't installed for php5!

* You MUST have the php.ini setting "open_basedir" unset for access to system-level API libraries [you do not]. - How would I go about fixing that?

* You MUST have ((PHP version >= 4.4.0 for having expat [you do], and the "expat" extension >= 2.0.0 loaded for having a decent version of expat [you do not]) [you do not], or (PHP version < 4.4.0 for having a decent version of expat [you do not], or PHP version >= 5.0.0 for not having expat [you do not]) [you do not]) [you do not]. - Err what?

Not fussed about the later two:
* You MAY have the "sysvshm" extension loaded for Unix performance optimizations [you do not].
* You MAY have the "sysvsem" extension loaded for Unix performance optimizations [you do not].

I assume there are other mb v5 users on here after all. Can anyone help?

Cheers,
Liam

I just installed modernbill 5.1.5

make a .htaccess file in the modernbill dir
in the file put:

php_value memory_limit 64M
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php .php4 .php3 .phtml

I had to open a support ticket for "open_basedir"

Did you use the zend or ioncube version?

Because for all intents and purposes, zend optimiser is NOT installed on v5 according to modernbill and phpinfo.

Hostnine is using ModernBill 4. I was reading on the modernbill forums that only a small ammount of people have upgraded to modernbill 5. I will not be upgrading... I love modernbill 4.

Default Same errors as thread title, adding .htaccess breaks zend

I installed 4.4 earlier today for the first time. I would like to install 5.1.5 before working through setting everything up. I get the same errors about PHP below. I tried the .htaccess entries listed in this thread and encountered an error stating Zend wasn't installed. I don't see a Zend directive for .htaccess. We're all on the same host so is this working for others? Can someone share the fixes?

Prepare a suitable environment before continuing.

I sent a helpdesk ticket and they installed zend optimizer for php version 5 and set open_basedir correctly - I sugguest you ask for the same.

I'm on the mars server btw.

Liam

PS.
I still can't continue correctly as it falls over when it creates the database data because of a language problem (it's set as the default English language). I've tried using it regardless, but it wont let me login... it just keeps returning me to the login page with no error.

eauxnguyen and others:

To this issue - I have installed MB5 but before doing this I changed all the .php files to .php5

Setup is a bit complicated as there is a cart function that controls most all the plans and services that must be configured correctly
