Default Moving Forward

Its been almost two years that I've been with H9, I've entered about 170 tickets, made 285 posts (this being 286) but I've moved to a new hosting company and a VPS solution to help avoid the issues of being black listed caused by so many sites on a single server and a less than 'no tolerance' approach by H9 in dealing with offenders.

I can no longer 'migrate' my site all over the world, but for me, the only thing migrate allowed me was an attempt to get away from a node that was black-listed.

This last round, started two weeks ago with yahoo, comcast, msn, aol all blacklisted several of my sites (I only have three which use email on a limited basis). Three of those tickets remain open.

Thank you Host Nine for almost 2 years.

Time to Move on.

Cool

I know exactly what you mean!! At the moment most of my clients aren't using H9 as their SMTP because if they do most of the emails are blacklisted etc..

I was able to migrate some of them a few times, which basically fix the problem for a while and the next thing you know boom!! same thing again..

So I am really close to do the jump as well... just don't know what to do or where to go.. because some provider are worst so.. the services here is good, everything else is okay except emails, which is the biggest thing for my clients.

Good luck with your new host

I'm very sorry to hear this but happy you find a great host to move to.

We do have a new employee dedicated to handling the blacklisting issues to ensure this problem is resolved once and for all.

I am also developing several spam prevention scripts to run on the nodes in order to prevent outgoing spam.

There is also another schema out there and this is also causing issues and it appears they wish to hold users hostage:
http://www.barracudacentral.org/
Where they are wanting all to pay to be "whitelisted"
https://www.emailreg.org/index.cgi?p=register
Is where you are suggested to go to.
This is $20 per domain name & IP.

I do understand the issue that H9 has in front of it. It does not make the rules as to what domain chooses to use for what is 'SPAM' and black listing sites or ip ranges.

I'm a very small fish in a very huge pond who knows that his sites are not causing any/sending any SPAM out and the only way I could prove it to the 'big fish' is by getting away from the rest of the school (keeping with the fish theme).

Seeing the number of invalid email requests coming into my IPs in just one week is pretty amazing and sad at the same time.

The learning curve if you go to a VPS that uses WHM/Cpanel, esp if you were here before 'cp' was put in place is almost zero.

And just an FYI for H9, I did not choose your VPS offerings because the price was a little high compared to others, and I went to a company which only offers VPS and dedicated servers.

I feel you, I am also moving forward because every time I open mail and I always average get 25-30 spam sex emails and and also about 90% of my emails I send out always reach their spam folders, so I knew there is something wrong so I found a website it will tell you which servers are blacklisted and I couldn't believe almost all of them are blacklisted. I am not happy about that at all.

Thanks H9 for year I have been with so it's time for me to move to new host shortly.

Thanks again!

I'm not leaving because I was GETTING spam, I left because H9's IPs were getting on BLACKLIST so mail to my clients was not getting through.

Its a real tough situation, but I needed the issue to be in my hands and a VPS did that for me.

Well, all of my domains keep getting spam emails mostly xxx emails and alot of spams and I fed up, that is the reason I am moving to different host. All nodes I am on is blacklisted, badly.

80% of my emails I replied never got out and reach the receipt due to nodes being blacklisted, this is bad.

Thank you.
