it would be great to have a google apps integration built in with RC, google apps is a very powerful solution that includes Email Management based on Google technology.
technically, the script is simple: remove current mx records and replace them with 5 new records, and add some CNAME recrods. Name.com has a built in google apps integration. and its very useful. |

level09,
I take it you are using Google Apps. I have been trying to test it for one of my DOmains, but am having some trouble. I basicaaly want only email for now. I have changed the MX Records (added the five as recommended) I use outlook 2003. No matter what I do, I am not able to receive any email from the setup. I use the test function in outlook, everything goes through ok, but never receive any email. Can you advise on this problem? Thank you in advance.

Sure,
Two Things : 1. Delete Any existing (old) MX records 2. Ask Support to configure the mail server so it doesn't try to deliver the mail locally. I have most of my domains running google apps (especially for mail). it is a huge feature, secure, and gets you out of the mail limitations. |

One more question. I have changed the url for the webmail I think that is what it is referred to, and have added it to DNS, I used the default mail in Hostnine, but change the CNAME to point here ghs.google.com I only changed it yesterday, maybe have to wait alittle longer.

OK cool. I will make the change as of today and test it later on tonight or tomorrow. It might work then. Do I need to get rid of the www CNAME information as well?

I am registered through Yahoo for the Domain name and changed the MX Records and added the CNAME records there as well. It seems to work, but still confused. Even though the Servers are pointed to Hostnine, won't all emails still go through the Mail Exchange Server at Hostnine? If I were to set the MX nad CNAME records in Hostnine and leave the Yahoo Domain DNS alone and Enable the DomainKeys and SPF would that work as well. Looking for thoughts.
