Default Dedicated hosting - Email questions

Howdy:

Quick question. I'm using a dedicated server that I recently picked up from Hostnine. The question and or problem is all over my hosted customers emails are going out but showing up as spam on the other end.

Example: I send and email from my account domain.blah to domain2.blah and it shows up on the end in the spam mailbox. Happening for all customers, all domains.

Would a server cert help resolve this issue? or is there something else I should be looking at?

Thanks for your time.

log a ticket

ensure rdns is setup
domain keys and SPF records are a must
always use SMTP to send mail - do not allow the nobody account to send mail

The other end is a big world....need to address each individually AOL, YaHoo, etc. Each has their own requirements

One part of the issue it appears will be solved with time. Although the server is not listed as a spam source any place that I could see, it is listed as unknown / unverified by many. That should change with time.

Thanks for the help.

We have finally gotten some help on this issue from the other end of the problem. SBC Global (AT&T, Yahoo) finally gave me something more than a generic reason.

The problem is in fact RDNS like you mentioned. As outlined in many of these posts I'm pretty new to having my own server. I've been reselling for a long time but that simply doesn't give you the knowledge you need to handle everything.

So what do I need to do to get RDNS setup? Put a ticket in with H9?

If you don't know how to do it then the best thing would be to ask H9 for assistance,

I put in a ticket a couple days ago and that was upgraded to a lvl 3 tech. Nothing has happened to my knowledge since then.

"If you don't know how to do it" Does this mean there is a way for me to handle setting up the RDNS? If so please point me in the right direction so I can read up and take care of this issue.

Thanks for any and all help.
