Default First time Dedicated server

and I could use some tips...

I have gone through the cPanel manual front to back, then again back to front and feel like I've setup the system correctly, but Ill be damned if I can get DNS working.

After signing up and receiving my login information my first issue was "what are my DNS ip addresses so I can setup my NS's with my registrar?". Those IPs were not documented anyplace that I could find. I finally called twice, the first time no one picked up after 25 minutes so I gave up. I called again and got someone after 15 minutes that gave me the IP addresses I should use. I also asked about possibly getting the server re-imaged if needed. They stated they can do it for $25 and it would take a few hours. That does worry me a bit, simply because on my other provider I can simply do it myself with on click of the mouse and at no cost or lengthy waiting on the phone.

I went about making sure those IPs were setup correctly with my registrar but have yet to get anything to resolve. I imagine it could just be I haven't waited long enough, but between my other servers I can make a new NS name on a domain and start having other domains resolve using it in less than an hour. I will of course continue to wait to see if time is the issue.

I followed the setup wizard (new install) and supplied all the information it requested. I'm not sure I guess if there is something above and beyond the wizard that I would need to do to get this DNS issue resolved. I'm simply talking about getting up and running. I'm not trying to deal with tweaking the system. (today)

Once again this is a bit of a new thing for me so any tips or helpful ideas you might have are truly welcome. I have been reselling to my clients using cPanel around 8 or 9 years. I'm not new to cPanel as a reseller, I'm just new to the server and root side of things (eg this is my first dedicated server). I feel confident that if I can get over this one hurdle that I could handle most of the other tasks.

Thank you in advance for any tips or helpful information you can supply a noob like myself...

Default First time Dedicated server

There is a vast network of forums and irc channels dedicated to linux and ...
Linux wants the programmers to extend and redesign it's OS time after time, ...
For server use, Linux is very cheap compared to Windows. ... Windows must boot
from the first hard disk. Linux can boot from any hard disk in the computer.

Thats not true - Windows can boot from any hard disk - you just need a boot loader to point in the right direction which is what linux uses
