Thumbs up Overall I'm Very Pleased with HostNine

I thought I should come and contribute my thoughts on H9 today for two reasons. One is I've been a customer now for well over a year now, and two, I have a feeling this customer testimonial area is getting filled with an over abundance of negative feedback. One thing to remember is that people will almost always take the time to comment if they are unhappy, but if everything is flying along just right, people will comment less often. So without further ado here is my impression of HostNine (or H9 as their friends call them).
When I first signed up with H9's Reseller Service I was immediately impressed with their high level of customer commitment. They transferred my site for me within a day and answered all of my questions promptly. Over the next few months I had to learn the reseller control panel and all of it's features. I was able to learn much of it on my own, but there were still some questions which needed answers. I searched through the knowledge base, which admittedly at the time really needed some work, but was able to answer some of the questions. The rest came directly from the H9 staff who were friendly and very helpful.
As time went on they introduced the ability to transfer your site(s) onto different servers all over the country, and shortly after, the world. Although I haven't felt the need to use this feature, I think it's worth mentioning that when this feature became available it made me realize that this isn't the kind of company who is happy just doing the same old thing day in and day out, and to me that's a big deal.
Well over six months after first signing on with H9 I had a couple of new clients that wanted to host their sites with me. So I filled out the site transfer form and the H9 team sprang into action. Two days later both sites had been transferred complete with all email accounts (address books too!) and databases, and the best part was, they were happy to do it without charging me a penny! This made my clients very happy as they didn't see any downtime and only a seamless transition.
A couple of months after that there was a disaster. The server located in Texas had stopped dead, websites were down, and my phone was ringing off the hook asking why their site wasn't loading. So I headed for the H9 forums to see what was going on (here). Turns out there was a huge explosion in the building beside the server room in Texas, taking everything in it's path down with it. I notified my clients what had happened and that I would keep them posted with information as it became available. Well that was the easy part. Checking into the forums for updates proved to be very effective, there was a new update every time I looked. The team at H9 did a great job of keeping us informed in a time where answers were needed right away. A couple of days later and everything was up and running again. I'm sure you're thinking that a couple of days seems like an unacceptable time frame, but on the contrary, I felt that getting a server running and all the data recovered in two short days after just being involved in an explosion was quite impressive...I can only imagine the scene in Texas during those events. A few days after that Ben from H9 posted a thread telling everyone (affected) they would get a full months credit because of the unfortunate events. The best part was there was no long process to apply for this credit, a simple form (here) submission was all it took. I received my credit that next month and not once did they try to get out of it.
So here I am over a year into my reseller account with H9 and I am still a happy customer. If you're considering a switch from your current hosting company I personally recommend H9, and if you're still unsure, simply call their toll free number and speak with Ben directly, he's always happy to answer your questions without the high pressure sales pitch!
