Talking Number of Sites on the Servers.

If you want to see how many websites are hosted in a server I would recommend http://www.myipneighbors.com/

If you are using a dedicated IP use the server's hostname or shared IP and it will show all the websites in that specific server.

See for yourself.. Hostnine doesn't host 100 to 300 accounts per server.. they host thousand of them..

While they claim that other companies host thousand of websites while they host 100 to 300.. thats a big fat lie

There are several online Reverse IP tools. The 4 that I know of are...

DomainTools (DT) at http://www.domaintools.com/reverse-ip/
myIPNeighbors (mIPn) at http://www.myipneighbors.com/
SEOlogs (SEOl) at http://www.seologs.com/ip-domains.html
WebHostingInfo (WHI) at http://www.webhosting.info/

I took you up on your "see for yourself" challenge, and here's what I found for H9's server1, server2, and server3...

server1.hostnine.com (64.38.33.162)

DT* - 654 domains
mIPn - 203 domains
SEOl - 210 domains
WHI - 701 domains

server2.hostnine.com (74.200.204.106)

DT* - 578 domains
mIPn - 0 domains
SEOl - 149 domains
WHI - 459 domains

server3.hostnine.com (74.200.193.234)
-- This is my server --

DT* - 463 domains
mIPn - 122 domains (my domain not listed)
SEOl - 124 domains (my domain listed)
WHI - 392 domains (my domain listed)

* Note: DT's free service only provides the total count and 3 domains from the list. A paid DT subscription is required for the full list. All other services listed here provided the full list for free. For server1, of the 3 domains provided by the free DT service, 2 of the 3 appeared on the mIPn and SEOl lists, and all 3 appeared on the WHI list. The 3 domains provided by DT for server2 or server3 did not appear on any other list.

Obviously, with such disparity, it is difficult (if not impossible) to determine the exact domain load per server with these tools.

I was not able to get H9 server names (such as crater, magellan, etc) to resolve to a checkable IP address. If you have additional server IP addresses, let me know, I would be happy to check them as well. But, for the servers I have checked, your claim seems to be unfounded.

Additionally, the following link at WHI shows that H9 hosts 1944 domains as of 13 Aug 2007...

I may be completely off the mark here, but I think you are confusing *Accounts* and *Domains*. Here's an example. If H9 has 300 reseller accounts on a server, and these resellers average just 10 clients each between them, you are talking 3000 domain names associated with the server. H9 only has control over the number of accounts per server, and since each reseller account has limits, in H9's eyes it is still just 300 accounts. To H9, this is no different than 300 shared hosting accounts (with similar limits) on a server with just 300 or so associated domain names.

You might want to be careful about labeling someone a liar in writing, and in public. Libel prosecution is not a pleasant experience!

Please point out where on hostnine.com you see us claiming that "big fat lie". We stated with Reseller Central there will be no more than 300 domains (not accounts but DOMAINS) per server. We have NEVER stated that was the max for servers pre RC. Not to mention we even said it's around 1/3 of the total amount of domains servers have now. We also mentioned that since we're hosting less domains on each server it will allow each domain to have more resources available when it comes to the CPU and Memory.

Sounds to me that we've been totally honest? If this is a huge issue for you why not contact us directly? If you feel your server has too many domains on it we can move you to a new one within minutes at no charge.

It would seem a problem is being made..that isn't there. Put it this way your not paying for a dedicated server why would they give you a server too yourself. But saying that am sure if you found your server was not giving it's best permonance...you report it...HostNine would sort it.
