Email - Manage from the backend?

Hello,

I've got a customer who has created a lot of folders from within his email client (Squirrel) and then moved the appropriate emails into these folders. He called me today because he wants to be able to move all of these folders into one single folder. Basically it sounds like he's got all of 2011's email in these folders and now that it's 2012 he wants them moved into one folder called "2011 Email" so he can organize his 2012 email.

What I would like to know is:

1) Is there a way to manage the email from the control panel?
2) Is there a way to do this from within one of the mail clients?

Any ideas for me?
