Default Moving from another host

I'm currently hosted (reseller hosting) elsewhere and am considering changing hosts to hostnine, and I was just curious how that process works. It says that your team will move my sites over here. How do you accomplish that, and what would you need from me? Would we be able to do this on a nighttime or weekend?

My current host uses WHM and Cpanel, would account settings/cron jobs/etc get pulled over as well, or is it just site files and databases?

And what is the process involved if a hosted site has an SSL certificate? It's pointed to a specific IP address which obviously wouldn't be making the transfer with me.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in HostNine.

We currently move an average of 100-150 websites a day so moving from another host is a breeze!

All we will need is the login details to your previous host and we will be able to conduct your transfer within minutes upon sign up.

For Site's with SSL we will assign them a new IP on our server and install the SSL certificate on them for you.

Thanks for your response. A few more questions...

How does the support for PHP4/PHP5 work? Is it just using the extension (.php/.php5), or does it use another method (is there another method)?

In your supported features, I don't see Java or Postgresql... these things aren't critical for me, but is there any possibility that they could be installed (at some point), or would that require a dedicated server?

It says daily site backup... what is your backup scheme? Is it backed up to tape? Hard drive? Is the backup overwritten every 24 hrs, or are they saved for a certain amount of time?

You offer some very attractive options, I just want to make sure I understand the details.

Hi,

You're very welcome.

How does the support for PHP4/PHP5 work? Is it just using the extension (.php/.php5), or does it use another method (is there another method)? Yes, for PHP5 you can use .php5 or edit the .htaccess file to use .php for PHP5

In your supported features, I don't see Java or Postgresql... these things aren't critical for me, but is there any possibility that they could be installed (at some point), or would that require a dedicated server? That would require a dedicated server as Java is very resource intensive. However, PostgreSQL would be possible.

It says daily site backup... what is your backup scheme? Is it backed up to tape? Hard drive? Is the backup overwritten every 24 hrs, or are they saved for a certain amount of time? We currently do incremental backups to another hard drive on the server meaning every night only the changes on the server get backed up, then they are syncd to an offsite location weekly.

Also, for moving my accounts, would you only need the login for my main account that is set up to use WHM, or would you need the login info for all of the accounts that I host?

All of your replies sound good to me. I'm still looking around, but I like what I've seen so far.

I have exactly the same question.

Don't see any answer.
