Hi All;
I installed SiteSearchPro on my web site and I really like it. The results page posted to a plain white page that was somewhat unappealing. There is a section in the admin part of the program for formatting the page to match the rest of your site. I don't know much about css but I managed to get the major elements of my page in place. The problem I'm having is with the entire page being displayed to the left of the screen as opposed to centered like the rest of my pages. Its a fairly simple page with a banner logo, a few css navigation buttons and a footer. The program displays its results right below the navigation buttons. Can someone point me in the right direction on this? Take a look at www.tequilatrippin.com go to the recipe section and search for a tequila recipe (margaritas for example). The resulting page is the one I'm concerned with. Thank in advance! Jeff |

There are a couple of errors in the code on the initial search page
The style sheet for the site search pro has to be in between the head tags. Move it up and place it within the css that is already there so you end up with <style type="text/css"> <!-- .style1 {font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif} sp2_field {border: 1px double #999999;background-color: #d7d1d4;font-family:Times New Romans;font-style:normal;color: #000000;font-size:12px;font-weight:normal; }.sp2_btn {font-family:Times New Romans;font-style:italic;color: #000000;font-size:14px;font-weight:bold; }a.sp2_title:link,a.sp2_title:active,a.sp2_title:v isited {font-family:Times New Romans;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color: #7777cc;font-size:12px;font-weight:bold; }a.sp2_title:hover {font-family:Times New Romans;font-style:normal;text-decoration:underline;color: #7777cc;font-size:12px;font-weight:bold; }.sp2_result {font-family:Times New Romans;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color: #000000;font-size:12px;font-weight:normal; }.sp2_select {font-family:Times New Romans;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color: #990000;font-size:12px;font-weight:bold; }.sp2_address {font-family:Times New Romans;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color: #008000;font-size:10px;font-weight:normal; }.sp2_page {font-family:Times New Romans;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color: #000000;font-size:12px;font-weight:normal; }a.sp2_page:link,a.sp2_page:active,a.sp2_page:visi ted {font-family:Times New Romans;font-style:normal;text-decoration:underline;color: #000000;font-size:12px;font-weight:normal; }a.sp2_page:hover {font-family:Times New Romans;font-style:normal;text-decoration:underline;color: #000000;font-size:12px;font-weight:normal; }.sp2_nowpage {font-family:Times New Romans;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;color: #a90a08;font-size:12px;font-weight:bold; } --> </style> Then delete the <style type="text/css"> and </style> that are left in the site search pro code Also delete <hr /> <h4 align="center"> The <h4> doesn't have a closing tag and as far as I can see the <hr /> isn't required. Once those changes are made, the results page *may* be OK, but I would need to test it afterwards. Also, and you may do this anyway, but always save a copy of the page before you make changes in case you have to go back to the original version. Email me if you need clarification webmaster@bgrdesign.com |

Thanks Brian;
I appreciate the response. SearchPro doesn't actually allow (although I'm sure it can be done) for the editing of the results page. They have a section in the admin for adding css or html code. They were a little less than helpful when I e-mailed them for advice. No problem though, I added the css coding from my web pages, got rid of the un-necessary coding and it seems to be good now. Can you recommend a good book for beginning CSS coders? Thanks again for your help. Jeff |

Sorry, I haven't used a book in quite a while so my reference is out of date. Maybe do a search on Amazon?
There are a couple of online sites that are fairly good http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp - although it looks like it doesn't go into much detail on inheritence and cross-browser problems. But there are a fair number of examples where you can change the various codes and see the result. |

Cool, I will check it out. Maybe the local JC has a course and I could get the books they use.
Thank you, Michael |
