Our monitors have detected heavy packet loss for two of our three DNS servers, ns1.speedydns.net (ns7.hostnine.com), and ns2.speedydns.net (ns8.hostnine.com). Our third DNS server however, ns3.speedydns.net (ns9.hostnine.com) remains unaffected.
This packet loss may cause some issues with accessing your website if you are not using all three of our DNS servers for your website. If you are not yet utilizing the third DNS server that was setup at the beginning of 2011 to ensure redundancy in your sites operations, the information is below: ns3.speedydns.net (174.37.183.108) This name server will function whether you have a shared or reseller account with HostNine and is on the RC network (accounts created after September of 2007). |

It was found that these two servers were undergoing large denial of service attacks. We have placed these two servers behind hardware firewalls designed to fight this type of attack and the servers are now responding normally again.
As a reminder however, we encourage everyone to utilize all three DNS servers to ensure added redundancy of their domain's DNS. |
