Talking HostNine Pulls Through after an unusual delay on Server Setup!

I've ordered a dedicated server a week ago.

I was told that the server will be setup within 24 business hours..

Since 3 days after i've ordered it and until today i've had many chats with 3 different representatives. I was told that it's being delayed, then that the server shipment was delayed, then that it'll be ready 3 days ago. Then Josh said yesterday that it'll be ready today.

And now - Blake says that there was a confusion in the DC (What confusion ? I think that everybody there at H9 already knows my domain and that i'm waiting for this order) and that he will do his best that it'll be ready today and if not early tomorrow.

COME ON !

You do say that the bill will be delayed to the day that it'll be ready. Ok. I thank you for that. But i need the server !

I have heared so many good things about H9 and that's why i'm here. This delay already cost me money (i've had to pay for another month with my old annoying host), and i'm not starting any new projects because i'm waiting for the new server to be ready.

I'm realy disappointed, and i realy hope that it doesn't imply on the future.

Had to get this off my chest.

Still waiting,
E-A.

Dedicated servers can take a few days to get setup, especially if they had to order a new one for you. This goes for anyone, you really need to expect to wait 2 weeks (at most) to be able to have the server ready for the public. Remember that even though the server is running, you need to do some initial configuration to get it running right (although i'm not sure how far H9 goes with the setup). then transfer accounts, and wait for DNS to clear...

Moving to a dedicated server is never an overnight thing.

Dan, I understand that, but i'm not the one who "made the rules".

I've been told by a chat rep that it'll be set within 24 business hours, before i've made the order.

7 days passed. Every day i get a "tomorrow.." answer.

This is frustrating.

We're very sorry about this and as stated over the weekend the server shipment did arrive but the data center does not provision on the weekends. They have been deploying the server today and Travis will begin on the account transfer this evening for you and update your transfer ticket ASAP. Your renew date on the server will also be updated to reflect the date the welcome email is sent out.

*EDIT*

I figured that just wasn't good enough so we've just upgraded you to the P4 server to make up for this unusual delay at no additional cost :-)

Just wanted to say that everything was done to my satisfaction and i'm very happy with the transfer

Being a "dedicated-server noob" it is very important to have such a great support like HostNine has.

Especially Travis who has done above and beyond helping me to transfer my sites to the new server, and even taught me some basic SSH

It is important to have a support you can count on and i'm very pleased with HostNine's Support.

Thanks for everything,
E-A.

Wonderful! We're very happy to hear that you're happy. Would it be okay for us to change this to a positive review?
