Love the new h9 website layout, but that awful puke green color has to go
![]() It's too dark for one thing and does not give a good impression in contrast with the other colors. I would recommend using a more subtle shade that blends in better and using colors like blue or brown I think would match the rest of the colors nicely. Other than that, great job guys

Glad you like it!
The only thing is, that green IS HostNine. Our logo has always been that green color and it's what our company has always done. I feel the green flows very nicely with the rest of the layout. Which part in particular are you seeing it negative? |

Hello there,
well, I don't care so much about the colors. But the usability and accessibility of the site is very bad, even worse than before. 1) You can't navigate without Javascript enabled. If one prefers the the 'features' of a JS-navi no problem, but please provide a non-js navigation, too. 2) Without pictures enabled, you can not even see most of the product-features, nor navigate through the products. Check out the site with lynx; lynx is always a good test for usability and accessibility of a website. Many (most) people (like me) live in parts of the world, where one can't get a STM-1 for 19.99. ;-) So to prevent a site from loading 3-5 minutes and paying a lot for the traffic, most people here disable pictures (or do not even wait for them to be loaded). JFYI: average bandwith here in East-Africa is around 8kbit/s, 1GB traffic around US$ 35. And for security-reasons it's a good idea to keep javascript disabled anyhow. See also Accessibility - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for further informations. But, there is always a 'but', on the other hand: I like the new features of the reseller products and the new levels, and the tiny VPS! Thank you and congratulations! -- HAND, -tusker Last edited by tusker; 05-09-2010 at 04:52 AM. Reason: typo |

I can appreciate the attachment to the H9 logo always being green but seriously, the pea soup look is ugly compared to other hosts where their presentation speaks professional.
I sent H9 some color samples I put together the gold or brown makes it look classy. That's one of the things H9's been missing for a long time compared to other hosts, their site was just blah sorry to say. Now the layout is looking snappy but that green is repugnant. Green is not a good color for web hosting, but to each their own, I'm just saying every time I come to this site I get a sick feeling. I'm sure other visitors may have the same impression. Hostnine is one of the better hosts out there but the color never gave it that WOW factor. Turn H9 logo into a gold nugget and that will turn some heads

new site is great and very clean. Also it is easy to find the information quickly
![]() But it is better to put Live Chat on top of the site. (At the moment it is harder to find). Also H9 TOS link not easy to find on this new site

Maybe the colors are a little harsh. But, I don't have the giant aversion some may. I like the green, but it doesn't look very contemporary & techy as it is now. When I think technology, I think vibrancy, contrast, and clean. The new site has the clean -- for the most part. The colors are a little retro-ey and don't pop enough. I think the real problem isn't the green, but the creme background against the green. That's what's giving the green its "pukey" tinge. It's an optical illusion.
Anyway, still not bad. I personally liked the old site, but this is nice too. I like the continuity, for sure. ~ Ed |
