Maybe if you disable BoxTrapper for ALL the accounts this will reduce your spike!?! SpamD is down now ... server load is up to 28.97 just now!! CRAZY!!

This is because of the backup running. Sometimes when backups run it can spike the load for a brief amount of time especially around 6AM

But POPD and SPAMD failed too. I can still telnet to port 110 though... Could you please check ?? I'm sorry but I'm a bit panic right now! It's down to 9.88 but it's still high. The other server that I have outside of H9 has only 0.40 load or up to 1.20 max ...

OK looks like you've handled it. Thank you for the quick resolution. It seems odd that this has been the 2nd time in this past week that SPAMD and POPD was out. Is there somebody spamming H9 or DDOS-ing it? On my other host, they disabled the BoxTrapper completely because it took so much resources...

Hi,

The problem is that the monitor from within WHM does not udpate very quickly, often it has a 15 minute lag time behind what the conditions the server is actually under.

If a service ever fails we have it back online within seconds, however WHM sometimes continues to report that it is down.
