At HostNine we're always trying to improve our service and customer experience because at the end of the day that's what is most important to all of us. Feel free to be as forward as possible as it's only going to help.
What exactly are we looking to hear? New software you would like to use, support enhancements, product enhancements, community enhancements, and basically anything we're lacking in your eyes. We look forward to hearing from everyone! |

I moved to H9 from a host where there was no WHM, no cPanel and no ModernBill. It's like coming out of the dark and into the sunshine here at H9. What more could one ask for?
But since you asked, there were 4 things my old host had that I find myself wishing for here. 1. Multiple domains on 1 account (not parked or addon domains but actual domains). 2. An additional folder level so sub-domains don't reside in the root of the primary domain. Example primary domain: /home/user/www.domain.com/public_html Example sub domain: /home/user/sub1.domain.com/public_html 3. The ability to switch a domain to run PHPasCGI rather than the normal mod_apache method. 4. A button/link to chown a domain's files. The chown cron job offered here at H9 is an excellent alternative but sometimes makes me wait a bit impatiently before I can modify files. Just wishful thinking. ![]() Otherwise, keep up the great work! The support here has thus far been excellent! |

------------------------------------------------ anyway, mainly all I can't wait to see is when the servers are upgraded to cPanel v11. |

Yikes! Anyway its just php values thare are not supported any more: "With PHP running as CGI/phpsuexec manipulating the PHP settings is still possible however it can not be done with .htaccess. Using .htaccess with php_value entries within it will cause a 500 internal server error when attempting to access the scripts. This is because php is no longer running as an apache module and apache will not handle those directives any longer."
source Regarding choosing the folder subdomain files can be within, of course it will still be located within your /home/user directory, there is nothing you can do about that... And for the last one, chown, the answer still stands ![]() Heh, I'm not trying to start a war here or anything, it just takes a quick google search to find what your looking for.

Nope, not starting a war here.
I stand corrected on the .htaccess thing. Yes, there are some limitations but it's mostly the stuff I wouldn't want to be fooling with anyway. To clarify the chown situation, I'm speaking of files created by a web process and are assigned to group:nobody and owner:nobody. You cannot modify those files via FTP until they are chowned back to group:user and owner:user. This is typical of applications like Joomla/Mambo that use an administrative interface (web process) to add templates, extensions and other files like photos in a gallery. Anyway, let's not continue this discussion here. I feel like I've hijacked Ben's thread and it's getting away from the main purpose he started it for which is more and better stuff from H9! |

Great to see HostNine listening to what their customers want.
Now back on subject....

Ahh, I didn't completely understand what you meant regarding chown

things that could be nice to see on hostnine...
well, you can take one exclusive server running ASP or JSP apps, sell it in a different package for few dollars more, that would keep with you every customer that needs thouse things. and i think you won't lost, just alocate less people (paying more each one) and give them some sevices more running. upgrade to cpanel 11 !!! (enough time for testing). add on knowledge base " how to write your own .htaccess for dummies" cause it seems to be a common question. some stupid non needed things like a "disccount on birthday month" you got a great uptime, could be good to show real time uptime estatistics from other tracker companies. wipe out other webmail apps from cpanel ( i think eveybody use roundcube! ) could be useful to get a direct access to it. |

Hmm Honestly I can only think of upgrading to Cpanel 11. That would be great with the addition of Ruby on Rails and Mysql 5 and such.
Support is great, uptime and server load are great. |
