Just a quick question for the staff here.
Just recently, a client (not yet tho) asked if he could move his hosting to me from a pretty big provider and for some reason I was hessitant to tell him to move. Maybe because I'm not too trusting of the quality of reseller accounts here - dunno. And since I'm still working with this client (designing a site) I had access to their cpanel account. Now after he requested to move over to me, I kinda checked his server loads and it was hovering @ 0.39 (2 cpus). I checked mine and it was hovering @ 1.47 (4 cpus). This kinda dented my confidence in being able to match the levels he's receiving now, even though he does want to move. Now I really can't wait to get on a dedi but still can't afford at the moment ($300/mnth is kinda steep) Now I want to know how HN handles server loads on their reseller servers, how they handle upgrades as well. (What i mean is since upgrading your reseller to a higher reseller only gives you more disk space (not cpu power), how bout if there's no more disk space on the server itself? what happens then?? Current stats on my server now (galaxy) is: Disk sda1 (/) 80 % Disk sdb1 (/backup) 50 % Disk sda4 (/home) 56 % Disk sda2 (/var) 54 % So please, how do you handle load balances on a particular server? If a client within a reseller account is using high loads, how do you handle the situation then? Thanks |

Server load on all servers is watched 24/7. So we can predict if a server is going to go into higher loads that way we are able to prevent it. In order to keep the load on the lower end we only put 100 resellers on a server.
