Hi,
Not sure if its only me, but can someone explain what this mean "load jumped to fast to save" ?? This particular issue seems to be occurring pretty often with h9. You can see a lot of thoses under the Network issue thread http://forums.hostnine.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11 Like what's the cause of the problem anyways? the load is jumping for which reason? Also, what are we trying to save btw? ![]() Thanks! |

Take my word for it, that's a real senitive subject around here. I have asked before and all Alex said to me is... "We are on top of it." and chastised me for bringing it up. Greg V |

the 'what are we trying to save' is easy - a reboot of the hardware. As for the cause - could be attacks, could be run-away scripts/database/cron jobs...

Basically what that phrase means is that once our monitor notified us that the load had jumped, we were unable to login to the server and kill what was causing the issue as it had caused the load to rise so fast that the server became unresponsive. Typically once this happens we are required to reboot the server to bring it back to normal. Afterward we look at the server to see what exactly caused the issue.

I don't think anyone means to "chastise" you for bringing the topic up of a server being down. However, the fact of the matter is when we receive numerous phone calls, tickets, and live chat requests regarding the server being down - at the same time we're trying to fix it - it can actually slow down the fixing process and increase the downtime. Let me assure you that when a server is down, we really are on top of it and are looking for a solution. In this industry, we understand how important your website being online is to you, and will always be working to minimize downtime as much as possible. |

I understand your point and your (NickH) support for me has been fantastic, my comment was about support managers talking down to clients. Although this happened to me 6 months ago I was just warning idwebca to be aware of this. I do feel support has improved the last couple of months. NickH keep up the good work. Greg V |
