Cool You Tell Us - 2008

We want to know what you want to see in 2008 here at HostNine. We plan to change various things here at HostNine this year for the better and I feel what better way to start than hearing from our customers.

In May we will be moving to a bigger office, we've already started offering WHMCS for resellers, re-enabled SSH, we are going to be offering several more dedicated server packages, we will be offering a very special reseller plan which you will hear about shortly, and we've set a standard PHP5/PHP4 config on all of the servers to keep things consistant.

There is definitely a lot more to be done we just need some help. You tell us what you would like to see and we'll make sure it happens!!!

Folks,

We're looking for new ideas in this thread to help us move on from our growing pains.

Additionally, posting your ticket number for WHMCS will not move you up in the queue, we have a lot of requests for it as you would imagine, and we'll have them done as soon as possible!

Thanks for your continued patience, and happy 2008!

My main request would be for better support in general. The idea that if my server goes down I am not notified in any way/shape/form is a real downer in my opinion.

thelador,

While this is a great idea in theory, it wouldn't work, and I don't know of any hosts really (except for maybe dedicated) that send you an email for every downtime. The main reason is automatic email blacklisting.

I would recommend using that for everyone else as well or alertra.com

If you want to discuss our policy on that, please PM me, I want to keep this on topic for other suggestions, as we are very serious about improvement.

Will your packages be somewhat comparable to say HostGator. For example, they offer the Pentium Straight across the board. H9 offers a Celeron, why? I have no idea. Maybe offer faster processors. AMD is a great alternative, but the Pentium has a faster chip.
