Hi,
I am interested in hosting my account with you (currently at least 3 domains). I was initially thinking of buying the reseller basic account but feel this may be overkill initially as I will not be actively pursuing reseller status until I have developed my business a bit further (if at all). With this in mind I was thinking of the professional hosting package this seems to offer virtually the same except for the following: -2.5 gb less space -more bandwidth (150gb vs 100gb) -the reseller package includes WHM and reseller stuff such as modernbill enom etc) Have I missed any other major difference between reseller basic and the professional hosting package? Also a few other questions: -Once I have a profesional hosting package can I convert it (including the existing domains on it) to a reseller account at a future date. -If I opt for the professional package (ilo of reseller account) how do I manage the multiple domains (is it all through cpanel and if so are they treated as ad-on domains)? -With the professional package, would it be possible to seperate the administration of each domain by cpanel logon access? I.E. can I have multiple account logons to cpanel each one used to administer a specific domain (website, ftp, email, db's etc)? -I have read that some shared hosting environments restrict the amount of cpu usage an account/domain can use and the knock-on impact of this is that if more than approx 20 simultaneous users are using the site the account/domain is temporarily suspended to avoid resource issues). Can you please advise what your policy is regarding the above and if you operate a similar scheme etc? TIA, JamieT |

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in HostNine. That is correct. The professional package does not have WHM and if you plan on reselling it's not recommended as upgrading to a reseller from shared with addon domains is not easy. -Once I have a profesional hosting package can I convert it (including the existing domains on it) to a reseller account at a future date. Yes but it's not easy. -If I opt for the professional package (ilo of reseller account) how do I manage the multiple domains (is it all through cpanel and if so are they treated as ad-on domains)? That is done with add-on domains. -With the professional package, would it be possible to seperate the administration of each domain by cpanel logon access? I.E. can I have multiple account logons to cpanel each one used to administer a specific domain (website, ftp, email, db's etc)? Unfortunately not. We do not have any set policy in place. We do not overload our servers so it's rare that our users have an issue. If there is ever an issue we notify the customer before taking any action. |

Thanks for the prompt response Rick,
I am not sure if I need the full features of a reseller account as I currently only plan to host domains for myself and family/friends who wouldn't necessarily want or know how to manage their domain from cpanel. If I decided to bite the bullet and move to a reseller account does it make more sense (or be easier) to purchase a new reseller account and migrate each domain individually, is this possible or does it confuse the issue transitioning from a host with the domain in a cpanel add-on to a reseller with the domain in WHM? TIA, JamieT |

Hi,
You would have to manually recreate each domain on the server as it's own account rather than an add-on, and you would have to manually move files and databases. |
